故事发生在一个妖怪与人类共存的世界中。众多的妖怪分为激进派和保守派，其中，激进派的妖怪们经常会犯下危害人类安全的案件。为此，一个名为“妖人省”的机构成立了。在妖人省中，拥有一半妖怪血统的人类被集结起来，他们和人类组成搭档，专门解决由妖怪引起的不思议事件。 西王石榴（中原麻衣 配音）就是妖人省的一员，她的搭档是外形超级俊朗但是内心十分害怕妖怪的军官总角景（樱井孝宏 配音），石榴经常因此而嘲笑胆小的景。此外，还有性格内向的薄萤（花泽香菜 配音）和她的搭档芳野葛利剑（日野聪 配音），古灵精怪的姐妹鬼灯（堀江由衣 配音）、雪洞（丰崎爱生 配音）和她们的准夫君花桐丸龙（尾裕贵 配音）。在调查事件的同时，石榴为何会成为半妖的原因也渐渐的浮出了水面。
