　　离异的米娜（玛丽娅 饰）因厨缘爱上了中国厨师马大航（周小斌饰），经过一段时间的电波传情后，她带儿子雅各布（雅各布 饰）前来中国与大航成亲，热爱中国文化的米娜很快与左邻右舍打的火热。雅各布极具个性，他想念生父于勒，并不接受妈妈新找的这个中国男人。爱屋及乌的大航怕被人说闲话，尽量宠着雅各布，而雅各布则把他的忍让看作好欺负，一次次恶作剧般折磨大航，把四合院搅的乱七八糟。夫妻俩商量后，把雅各布送入学校上学，但他很快露出了本性，要么写作业交白卷，要么把宠物带进学校，还捉弄校长和老师，他所做的目的只有一个，把他开除送回意大利。探到雅各布的真实想法后，学校针对他制订了特殊的教学方案。半年后，当于勒来接儿子时，他发现了一个跟从前不一样的雅各布......

　　Season five of Murdoch Mysteries opens in unfamiliar territory, as Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson) leaves Toronto to try his luck while the Klondike Gold Rush in the Yukon winds down. Suspended for interfering in an investigation, on the run for surreptitiously freeing a murderer to make amends, and nursing a broken heart after Dr. Ogden's marriage to another man, he tries to escape his past, and his passion for detective work. Back in the city, newly promoted Chief Constable Giles (Nigel Bennett) makes it clear to Inspector Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), that he'll be keeping a very close eye on police matters. Meanwhile, Murdoch's beloved former associate, Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy), is now working alongside Acting Detective George Crabtree (Jonny Harris) and Dr. Emily Grace (Georgina Reilly), a feisty young protégé. In the remote north, Murdoch is pleased to discover that his fledgling prospecting career may garner great success, a small comfort after Julia's marriage to another man. But as he tries to rebuild his life, he finds himself drawn into the case of Mrs. Elizabeth Bryant (Jill Halfpenny), an innkeeper charged with murder. The plot thickens when writer Jack London (Aaron Ashmore) lends his insights, and Murdoch soon realizes that while he had hoped to leave his shattered heart and tattered career back in Toronto, his days as a detective are not behind him.

　　2002年，刚毕业的安颜（佟丽娅 饰）被分配到长治县和平中学教书。出身城市的她，起初对乡村学校的教学环境和理念难以适应。但随着与学生的相处以及家访的深入，安颜逐渐认识到乡村教育的重要性并感受到了“被需要”的价值感。她在老校长于阗、现任校长符胜治（康爱石 饰）的感召下，领悟并传承了“守”和“孵”的教育理念，成长为一名远近闻名的优秀教师。2012年，安颜出任和平中学分管后勤的副校长，推动“营养午餐”落地实施。2016年，安颜被启用为易地扶贫搬迁学校的校长。面对薄弱的教学基础和复杂的生源情况，安颜带领一批优秀的乡村教师将问题逐一解决，为孩子们创造了优质的学习环境。以安颜为代表的乡村教师们，步履不停、躬耕不辍，帮助一批批山村学子走向更广阔的天地。

　　本剧的主人公是有着10年经验的资深警员Angie Tribeca（Rashida Jones）。Angie是一头「独狼」，说话太直率，因此很难与人相处。她的顶头上司、严肃认真的老警长Chet Atkins（Jere Burns）要求每名警察都必须有一个搭档，Angie对此颇为反感……但她必须接受，于是她的新搭档（Hayes Macarthur）来了。
　　调查组其他成员包括：Monica Scholls医生（Andree Vermeulen）是这个团队中的法医，戴一副眼镜，足智多谋，为人古怪。DJ Tanner警官（Deon Cole）是K-9警犬队的负责人。笔迹鉴定专家Edelweiss博士（Alfred Molina）看起来非常严肃，实际上对各种玩具有着特殊的嗜好。

As Hezekiah finds fortune and fame through the art of pugilism, he attracts the attention of the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants, Mary Carr, who exploits his talents to further her criminal enterprise. Meanwhile, the menacing and self-declared emperor of the East End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, is determined to destroy Hezekiah, whose ambitions to fight in the West End threaten everything he has built. What ensues is a battle of the old world against the new.
