蜷川亚室（丰崎爱生 配音）自幼生活在海边，有着了不起的游泳技术，是一个个性活泼开朗的女生。今年，她就要转入著名的县立海商高等学校开始新的学习生活了，会有怎样的好运等待着她呢？一进入学校，亚室即选择了自己热爱的游泳部，没想到，有用不的经理人兼部长冲浦要（丰永利行 配音）居然是一个连水也不敢碰的旱鸭子。 在游泳部里，亚室认识了很多志同道合的好友：坚强好胜的织冢桃子（生天目仁美 配音），个头矮小长相幼齿的生田莳辉（清水爱 配音），表面清纯内心却十分好色的静冈魅玲（福井裕佳梨 配音）。在亚室的支持和鼓励下，冲浦要也渐渐的开始尝试从前十分恐惧的游泳运动。而他和亚室之间的关系，似乎并不是部长和部员这么简单。
故事发生在地处偏远的小岛“浦岛”上，虽然那里风景如诗如画民风淳朴又自由，但世世代代都生活在那里的原住民们，他们被曾经发生过的事情和古老的繁文缛节所限制。随着时间的推移，无法看到未来希望的居民们开始自暴自弃。 一天，一位名为三千里切那（铃木达央 配音）的男子被海浪冲到了沙滩上，失去了重要的记忆的他，只知道自己背负着拯救世界的使命。在岛上，切那邂逅了只在夜晚出门的顽固家里蹲御原凛音（田村由香里 配音）、个性大大咧咧有些男孩子气的枢都夏莲（阿澄佳奈 配音）和拥有着悲惨身世灵感力极强的伽蓝堂纱罗（山村响 配音）。
