作品的故事设定在现今的21世纪，猫神 茧与普通人类柚子一起生活。柚子的父母因为意外生亡，所以柚子从小便一人继承了古董店“八百万堂”。而在这寄居的茧，虽然是负责守护被遗忘的万物和记忆的神明，但在作品中只是一个只顾吃、喝、玩及睡的猫神。在作品中，除了茧外，也将会有很多很多不同的各式神明陆续登场，热热闹闹地交织出一部轻松的喜剧。
