『神秘の世界 エルハザード』や『バトルアスリーテス 大運動会』などのヒットアニメを多数手がけるAICアニメーション制作によるオリジナルのコミカルSFアニメ。原作は『天地無用！』で独自の世界観を築き上げた梶島正樹、監督は『NG騎士ラムネ＆40 EX』を手がけたますなりこうじ、脚本はのちに『機動戦士ガンダムOO』などを手がけたヒットメーカー・黒田洋介が担当。 家出した幼なじみの少女アウンを探して宇宙を旅する、少年フォトンと相棒のキーネがとんでもない事件に巻き込まれ、砂漠化が進む惑星を舞台に大活躍……。主人公のフォトン役に『NARUTO -ナルト-』などでも活躍する竹内順子を起用。ほかにも黒田由美、堀江由衣、山寺宏一、折笠愛など、豪華声優が数多く出演。
