　　In a North Dublin housing estate Char's mother goes missing. When she returns Char is determined to uncover the truth of her disappearance and unearth the dark secrets of her family.

　　朝鲜战争期间，在江原道附近一个叫东莫村的偏僻小山村。那里的人们与外界隔绝，过着自给自足的生活，他们竟不知外面有发生战争。
　　韩国国军的表铉哲（申河均饰）和卫生员文尚相（徐宰庆饰）由于逃营和掉队，来到东莫村。与此同时，朝鲜人民军的李秀华（郑在泳饰）和老兵张荣熙（林河龙饰）以及少年兵徐泽基也到了东莫村。而在此之前，因为飞机坠毁，美国飞行员史密斯大尉（斯蒂芬•泰休勒饰）也来到了村子。
　　当双方士兵碰面时，剑拔弩张，后来才由紧张对峙渐渐平和下来，互不侵犯，但还是有很大敌意。在与淳朴的村民接触中，士兵们习惯了东莫村安宁的生活。后来战火即便降临到村子头上，双方的士兵们决定肩负起保卫东莫村的任务。

　　春枝（宁静 饰）出生于专门制作炮竹的大户人家，是家中的唯一子嗣，因此打小就被当做男孩养大，个性桀骜不驯。父亲死后，族老们定下规矩，春枝一辈子不能嫁人，否则就会失去继承家业的权利。
　　某日，春枝邂逅了名为牛宝（巫刚 饰）青年画家，牛宝为人十分高傲，绝不向权贵低头，这点吸引了春枝的注意。春枝潜入了他的画室，却意外的看到了自己女儿身的画像。觊觎家业的管家满地红（赵小锐 饰）将春枝的动情看在眼里，他设计逼走了牛宝，却没能够阻止春枝前去找他。终于，春枝和牛宝两情相悦了，春枝也恢复了女子的打扮，这让族老们大为震惊。满地红和牛宝即将进行一场放鞭炮的比试，胜者方能娶春枝为妻。

　　前海军陆战队员杰克·卡特（Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin 饰）在退伍后加入了一间私人安保公司，他上班的第一天是负责保护押送潜逃海外数星期后被抓回来的女子奥莉维娅·坦尼斯（梅丽莎·罗斯伯格 Melissa Roxburgh 饰）。奥莉维娅是IQ高达135的电脑工程师，此前隶属于美国最大的国防公司之一创世纪，她手中掌握着关系国家安全的重要情报资料。杰克一行的任务是将其安全护送到国防部，谁知当车队通过某密林时，他们遭到一群手持强力杀伤性武器之人的袭击。经过激烈交火后，杰克带着奥莉维娅夺路逃亡，好不容易来到某据点落脚。

　　The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich; his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.

　　一群以龚大哥为首的挑夫经过一座山的山口时，被山里庙中的老男人袭击，双方一场恶斗，龚伤了脚腕。众挑夫把龚抬到庙里，挑夫小六子嘱咐女人照顾好龚。不久，小六子身负重伤的回来，报告东洋鬼子已经进山并抓走众兄弟的消息。龚出去为小六子采药，回来却发现小六子和女人抱在一起，龚十分愤怒。东洋鬼子已经来了，龚发誓要挡他们的道。女人也跟着来到了战斗中，却不幸被打死，小六子向龚报告了女人的死讯，与龚一起冲向火海。

　　第二次世界大战期间，德国占领苏联大片领土，准备试验飞弹，袭击莫斯科。苏联飞行员Grivtsov、副驾驶Linkov和无线电操作员卡佳受命侦察敌情，飞机被击落，两位飞行员被俘。Linkov叛变，Grivtsov成功地逃离战俘营。他们现在必须完成作战任务，回到他们赖以生存的祖国......
