　　电影回顾了匈牙利风雨飘摇的20世纪。一位92岁的匈牙利女性在与五十多岁女儿的对话中，回顾了她惊心动魄的一生。她成长于匈牙利动荡的年代，与一位帅气的军人一见钟情，为了避免战争的冲突，她一生搬家了27次。电影以幽默和温情的方式来呈现了这段不凡的个人经历。它不仅是一位女性的个人史，亦是匈牙利的国家历史。

　　货车司机苟仁（惠王军 饰）唯一的儿子因病夭折。苟仁认定是自己最好的朋友害儿子身亡，满腔悲愤踏上寻仇之路，途中却偶遇“熊孩子”毛豆（白泽泽 饰）。没了亲人的毛豆一心想找到在外打工的爸爸，撒泼打滚“大闹货车”。为了索要货物赔偿，苟仁只得带毛豆上路，二人踏上了一段啼笑皆非的寻亲之旅。
　　“熊孩子”闯祸不断，“熊大人”也一路惹是生非；在这个格外寒冷的冬天，一大一小同嬉笑，共患难，两个孤苦无依的灵魂渐渐靠近。

　　在一次抢劫行动中，绑匪拒捕、杀人、挟持人质，警方要求飞虎队支持。由阿Mike带领的小队，成功地围捕绑匪，当阿Mike说服劫匪放下武器的时候，阿满一枪打死了劫匪头目占士，因为这些悍匪应该要死。这件事令Mike和阿满的友情受到考验，因为Mike考虑是否要指证他。而此时，阿满的妹妹阿诗突然被杀，一场报复行动开始了……

　　文森特（法布里斯·厄布埃 Fabrice Eboué 饰）和苏菲（玛琳娜·佛伊丝 Marina Foïs 饰）是结婚多年的夫妻，两人共同经营着一家小小的肉店。肉店的生意并不是十分兴隆，与此同时，他们还要忍受素食主义者们时不时来这么一下子的“恐怖袭击”，再加上文森特和苏菲之间的感情早已经被时间消磨殆尽，终于，苏菲决定和文森特离婚。
　　这一天，夫妻两人驾车行驶在夜路上，意外的撞死了一名骑自行车的男子，文森特认出了该男子就是早先袭击肉铺的那群素食主义者之一，于是将他的尸体带回了肉店进行分割，哪知道第二天，苏菲竟然误打误撞的将被分割后的大腿肉做成了火腿切片卖给了顾客。让文森特没有想到的是，这异常美味的火腿切片大受顾客的好评，一传十十传百，很快肉店门口就排起了长龙。

　　玛格丽特（弗朗西斯卡·内莉 Francesca Neri 饰）是全米兰最美丽的女人，普里莫利伯爵一直包养着玛格丽特，支付她的所有生活开销，并且深深的为她的外表所着迷。一次偶然中，玛格丽特邂逅了名为阿尔玛的男青年，看到玛格丽特第一眼时，阿尔玛就已经深深的坠入了情网之中，然而， 玛格丽特碍于自己的身份无法同阿尔玛心意相通，可实际上，她也对这段正常的感情有着无限的期待。
　　终于，玛格丽特和阿尔玛捅破了两人之间的窗户纸走到了一起，这令普里莫利伯爵非常的生气。玛格丽特离开了伯爵，和阿尔玛一起隐居乡间，但因为普里莫利伯爵拒绝再对玛格丽特进行经济支援，两人的生活很快就陷入了困顿之中。

　　二次革命失败后，流亡在日本的孙中山先生组建中华革命党，并担任总理，讨伐袁世凯。上海成为革命党人与袁世凯的北洋军阀拼杀的前沿。曾树凡认识了袁党的密探头子仇克弱。记者刘香林和茶房秘密接头。原来，革命党人发现内部混入了敌人的密探，为查出密探，迎接孙的到来，准备进行一次清道行动。曾是这一行动关乎成败的一着：诈降投敌，侦探卧底。曾几经波折和磨难，终于查明刘香林便是敌方卧底。刘和仇都被曾树凡和茶房击毙。

　　势津友里（三津谷叶子 饰）和丈夫千纮（斋藤工 饰）一起来到巴厘岛，在那里，千紘的妹妹九美（杉野希妃 饰）即将分娩。因为流露出了想要一直呆在这里的意愿，友里和千紘之间产生了激烈的争吵，愤怒之中，友里独自跑开，人生地不熟的她在稻田里迷了路。
　　友里邂逅了陌生男子木村，在木村的建议下，两人来到了一间夜总会中，这里狂乱躁动的气息渐渐感染了友里，友里抛开了不愉快的回忆，彻底沉浸在音乐之中。男妓维恩（Cornelio Sunny 饰）被友里的肆意姿态所吸引，但谨慎的友里避开了他。之后，友里意外目睹了木村和当地男子伊克（Hayate Matsuzaki 饰）之间的火爆场面，与此同时，维恩亦来到了友里的身后。

　　John Wood left the pieces of a broken civilisation behind, to go back to his roots in the woodland, after a virus pandemic struck the world. Residing in a simple cabin, he only wants peace and to live in harmony with nature. Coming from a long line of timber men, he joined the army and served as a soldier for many years. Rebelling against his superiors for killing civilians under martial law. John feels he got his own wife killed when saving hundreds of innocent civilians from certain death. His wife executed point blank as retribution for John's disobedience and supposed heroic acts. Now, a young woman named Maria Johnson has escaped a pandemic research lab. She's been part of experiments to find a cure for the still raging virus. Carrying the potential cure in her blood, she is hunted by profiteers and mercenaries who knows her secret. Coming upon John's cabin in the woods, Maria is instinctively taken into shelter by John. He wants her to recover fast and leave, but by learning her...

　　The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich; his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.
