　　"Wild in the Streets" comes from the same school of film making that spawned other attempts to connect to the counterculture such as "Skidoo" and "Candy". The difference between this and the aforementioned films is that "Wild in the Streets" is reasonably clever and well-made. It isn't sympathetic to the counterculture and will likely offend those with fond memories of the time. Surprisingly, it was a big hit when released and appealed to the youth whom it ridiculed so much. Unlike "The Trip" and "Psych-Out" (two other AIP films), its not an accurate representation of the movement at all. However it does work as social satire.
　　The direction by Barry Shear is good and makes innovative use of split screen photography. Plus, he keeps everything moving at a quick pace. In its funny moments, the film works well. In its attempts at drama, its helplessly dated and just as funny as the humorous moments. Christopher Jones underplays his role and Shelly Winters overacts. Hal Holbrook offers the best performance and Diane Varsi achieves the right note of "grooviness". The script by Robert Thom has its moments, especially the ending (easily the most ingenious part of the film). "Wild in the Streets" isn't perfect, but deserves recognition as an interesting misunderstanding of the hallucination generation. Those into this kind of kitsch will enjoy it the most. I'd rather watch "The Trip" or "Psych-Out" however. (6/10)

　　Using state-of-the-art high definition filming techniques, this series investigates the geological forces which shaped East Africa's Great Rift, and which make it one of the world's most wildlife-rich landscapes.
　　Part 1: Fire
　　The valley is the product of deep-seated geological forces which have spewed out a line of cloud-wreathed volcanoes stretching from Ethiopia to Tanzania. Their peaks provide a refuge for East Africa's most extraordinary wildlife, including newly discovered and previously unfilmed species which have evolved surprising survival strategies to cope with their challenging mountain environment.
　　Part 2: Water
　　The Great Rift Valley channels a huge diversity of waterways - rivers, lakes, waterfalls, caustic springs and coral seas - spanning from Egypt to Mozambique. Some lake and ocean deeps harbour previously unseen life-forms, while caustic waters challenge life to the extreme. But where volcanic minerals enrich the Great Rift's waterways, they provide the most spectacular concentrations of birds, mammals and fish in all Africa.
　　Part 3: Grass
　　The Great Rift Valley provides the stage for an epic battle between trees and grass - its course influenced by volcanic eruptions, landscape and rainfall. On its outcome rests the fate of Africa's great game herds. In the Rift's savannas, grazers and their predators struggle to outwit each other, forcing one group of primates to develop a social system that paved the way for the evolution of mankind.

　　1949年秋，解放军开到哈尼山。部队进山第一天，正碰上黑面人拦路抢劫土司马帮。土司向解放军报告，马鹏残匪已经逃出国境，当地只有一股"杀人放火，无恶不作"的"黑面匪"。群众却反映："黑面匪"专抢土司和马鹏，从不加害受苦人。解放军某侦察排决心依靠当地群众，迅速摸清马鹏匪帮和"黑面匪"的情况。哈尼族战士嘎洛进村打听自己心爱的姑娘宗尼的下落。宗尼的妈妈伊格大婶告诉他，宗尼被马鹏抢去，卖到国外。嘎洛十分痛苦。解放军正在开展群众工作，突然遭到袭扰。被迫参加马鹏匪帮的沙木夜里回村探望妻子，却把脸抹得乌黑，排长大海和嘎洛分析断定：马鹏匪帮没有逃往国外，他们化装袭扰的目的，是想引诱解放军去打黑松林。黑松林深处的山洞里，黑面人正在看解放军的布告。"大哥"宗尼回忆起痛苦的往事--3年前，马鹏匪帮要把她们十几个姐妹卖给外国老板，为了反抗匪兵的污辱，宗尼夺枪打死了匪班长，在老猎人帮助下和同伴们一起逃跑。从此，姑娘们有家不敢回，把脸涂黑，隐入密林。……宗尼满腔悲愤，把布告扯得粉碎。她走出山洞，认出了正在林中侦察的嘎洛，非常激动。一天晚上，宗尼偷偷潜回家中，被嘎洛抓住。但宗尼误以为妹妹是嘎洛打伤的，便狠狠地打了他一记耳光，消失在雨夜中。马鹏得到土司要跑到国外去的情报，故意把这消息透给伊格大婶，妄图借此把黑面人引出黑松林，对解放军有好感的沙木得知，悄悄报告了解放军。 　　嘎洛进山洞争取黑面人。黑面人不愿意被人当作土匪，一个个解下包头，露出了姑娘的面容。嘎洛正在为自己错怪了姑娘们而悔恨，伊格大婶送来土司要逃到国外的消息。嘎洛拦挡不住，宗尼带姑娘们冲出了黑松林。解放军按原定计划，把土司截了回去。马鹏残匪向黑面人猛烈进攻，马鹏的子弹击中了嘎洛，宗尼的竹箭射死了马鹏。马鹏匪帮被一网打尽。

　　1939年，失业的英国青年大卫，如同许多来自世界各地的社会主义青年，一起加入一国际组织游击队，为争取民主自由而投入西班牙内战，对抗佛朗哥的独裁暴政。大卫因负伤来到巴塞隆纳，战时血泊中悲惨呼喊的声音，成了他挥之不去的恶梦呓语。他发现自己摇摆于对社会主义的忠诚与新认识的爱人之间，心中的改革梦想却不因远离战场而稍减，最后选择回到前线战友身旁……
