　　Like Fritz Lang, David Fincher or Bong Joon Ho before him, talented debut filmmaker Lado Kvataniya uses the concept of police detective vs serial killer for an excitingly stylised, macabre and haunting narrative, that ultimately revolves around the identity of an era: in this case, the late 1980s Soviet Union. With Glasnost and the end of communist rule, the West also learned of the (unsurprising) fact that there were serial killers in Russia too – the most notorious case probably that of Andrei Chikatilo, nicknamed the Rostov Ripper, or the Russian Hannibal Lecter.
　　Based on these and many other sources, Kvataniya and screenwriter Olga Gorodetskaya constructed an immersive psychological puzzle, jumping back and forth in time, to reveal ever new-possible motives for the actions of all the protagonists. It all starts in 1990, when Detective Issa Davydov is celebrating his promotion and receives a call, reporting a crime that looks precisely like the ones of the serial killer that he famously captured some years before ...

　　该片讲述了六年前，拳手李山因为失手打死队员，因过失杀人被判刑，出狱后妻子已经因病去世，留下了一个患有自闭症的儿子亮亮。李山根据妻子留下的日记，学习照顾亮亮，同时寻找工作养家糊口。

　　哑女阿花天姿聪慧，在酒家陪酒生意鼎盛，她虽然不能说话，但用手语和表情就把酒客弄得神魂癫倒了。面貌奇丑的七先生是卖手表的摊贩，他偷偷地暗恋阿花。多少次阿花被子欺负戏弄，七先生都挺身而出替她解围，阿花非常感激他的相助，而自作多情的七先生却得意洋洋自认为是（英雄救美人）！聋哑老师陆建平义务教导阿花进修功课，日子久了俩人发生了感情，他们经常出外游玩，影响了阿花的正常上班。酒廊老板对陆老师很不满意，她要设法阻止他和阿花来往。某日、陆老师送阿花回来，在酒廊後巷被三个陌生人毒打，阿花眼看心爱的人被打得血流满面，在情急之下，竟高喊（不要打了）。奇怪的事情发生了，哑巴怎麼会开口说话？

　　罗马尼亚的首都发生惨案，接二连三被害人的心脏被挖去，神父的秘密圣经上显露出骇人的未来预言，以致惊吓致死。传说的预言之书，可以确定或者改变未来，成为魔鬼的目标。神秘出现的黑衣约翰，到底是天使还是魔鬼？这一切发生在红色社会主义政权倒台之后的罗马尼亚，和一个小侦探的亲密相关……

　　影片的故事发生在民国晚期的小镇回龙岗，这里与世隔绝貌似世外桃源，实则暗藏诡异让人不寒而栗，特别是镇上四大豪门的族长相继惨死，随着人们调查的深入，所有的证据都指向了小镇边缘一座恐怖的古堡，而这座古堡的守灵人还将带来更多血腥、离奇、令人窒息的怪事…

　　Since deciding to leave Filosofi Kopi, Ben (Chicco Jerikho) has lived in his hometown and has been actively defending farmer groups whose land has been taken over by the Company. At the same time, Jody (Rio Dewanto) is preparing a new concept of Philosophy of Coffee which will be launched soon. Ahead of the launch event, Ben who was scheduled to attend suddenly disappears. Jody sets out to find Ben. In order to save Ben, they face life and death adventures against gangs of illegal loggers led by Tubir (Yayan Ruhian), until their encounter with a traditional village group changes the map of their resistance.
